Working to reduce the risk of diarrheal disease among young children

The Belmont AWARD-APR project performs comparative analyses of diarrheal disease risk related to extreme weather events for children under five years of age in the Asia-Pacific Region.

The analysis is done to develop a transferable solution — seasonal to sub-seasonal (S2S) early warnings for diarrheal disease — to reduce extreme weather-related diarrheal disease burdens and improve community resilience to climate change. The project has linked these diarrheal disease datasets with the climate-based exposure metrics including extreme heat and extreme precipitation events, and anomaly in temperature and precipitation.
