Climate action is needed for health protection

All around the world, human health is increasingly being impacted by global warming. In a new animation we highlight what our network of researchers and projects are working on to get more knowledge of how climate change impacts health and what evidence and knowledge is needed to tackle health risks associated with climate change.

ENBEL is bringing leading researchers and policymakers together globally to exchange the knowledge and evidence needed to tackle the health risks associated with climate change, with projects working on for example:

  • providing knowledge on the health risks from extreme temperatures and airpollution, and what adaptation strategies are needed to avoid death and disease

  • assisting workers in hot environments to keep cool

  • keeping expectant mothers safe through community support and education

  • developing an early warning system for diarrhoeal diseases associated with extreme weather events
